The March 1968 2024 Calendar for This Menacing Year

I love Spring. It's my favorite season of the year, especially when the ground starts to thaw and you can smell the earth, and the warmer winds whip at your jacket and make you believe you could fly like Ororo Munroe, if only you had a bigger jacket.

This year March comes in like a lion and goes out like a ham (Easter, that is), and my best pal John's birthday is on that last day, too. Another excellent month!

Geez, Margaret, it's the thought that counts! Maybe this 1968 calendar that you can actually use this entire frosty month of 2024 will sooth your Dennis-aggravated nerves!

The February 1945 2024 Calendar for Naughty Little Bunnies

It's the first day of the month and you need a February 2024 calendar to pin up on your walls next to the Farrah Fawcett-Majors poster and and that cheap print copy of Picasso's Guernica! That's why I'm happy to present to you, courtesy of Billy Warden from the Home Office in Leipsic, Ohio*...Funny Animals #26!. Look, February begins on a Thursday and everything!

Oh for Pete's safe the rabbits are plastered over most of it, rendering is slightly less useful as an actual cover. Oh well, at least they've obscured the fact that there wasn't a February 29 in 1945. Although FDR ought to have authorized one!

1945's Billy Warden of Leipic, Ohio, we salute you! And thank you for never turning this comic into the authorities to be recycled into a weapon against Hitler, because that all worked out, anyway.

It's the first of the month! But we already know about August, don't we?

Comics Calendars for 2022: No-Nonsense November

As Mariah Carey casts off her sexy witch costume (no peekin') and puts on her fur-trimmed Santa's elf micromini, it's time to declare welcome to November, the calendar's only month dedicated to Richard Rider, the original Nova! Actually, the massive unabridged Oxford English Dictionary dictionary on my shelf tells me that A) the word is taken from the world "nine" for "ninth month" in this...eleventh month, and B) no way am I getting this big-ass book back up on the top shelf until John and Randi come home to help.

So what's in November that we have to celebrate besides stuffing outself stupid in three weeks and two days (uh, not that I'm counting down or anything)? Why, 'tis the month of Doctor Strange's Birthday! Happy b-day, Steve-O! Please blow out your birthday cake candles. Don't listen to the snakes telling you it would be fun to put your face in them. We're gonna celebrate his birthday it right now instead of on the actual date under a "Today in Comics History" tag, because we don't know the exact day in November he was born. Dang these eroded gravestones!

Also: sorry, Doc; forgot to celebrate your death last month.

September is upon us, and it's now time to see all those who you missed all summer saying goodbye at the station for summer vacation took them away. As we noted last month, there's no more Marvel Age 1994 calendars (boo, hiss!) because the magazine got abruptly cancelled (even booier and hissier!). For a Calendar You Can Use in 2022™, we'll have to make do with some replacements. How about this handy September calendar from the never-aging world of the Simpsons?

Greetings, Spring-lovers! It's time for the lion to come in and then a lamb goes out, and I guess they're using the same revolving door, because if they see each other's shadow...look, I don't know what animal is gonna come out. What I Do know is it's time for Calendars You Can Use Again in 2022! Beginning with this half-obscured month o' March from 1935...wow, it's really not that useful, is it? Well, if you only tend to use the second half of each week, this is the March calendar for you!

I'm not really sure who this group is s'posed to be (The Secret Avengers? The Dependable Defenders? Hawkeye's bowling buddies?) but now you can enjoy them all month long by cutting out this calendar (caution: unplug computer before using scissors on it) and pasting it up on your wall! Right over that ugly crack in the plaster. There ya go! You've got yourself a load-bearing calendar now!

The Marvel Age Calendar for 1994 2022: Fantastic February Fracas!

By '94 Marvel Age had switched to black-and-white back-page celandars, and this one is even shaded so you can't do much coloring in. (Do what I do: color the Thing bright orange!) But you'll still wanna paste it up on your wall (get a parent's or guardian's permission to use glue, tape, paste, or, as I'm using here, mucilage) because it works dandy for 2022!
