The Marvel Calendar for 2011 2022: Outraged October Ontarian*

Look out! It's the Wolverine, noticing you behind him in line to get in to see Tár at your local cinema! Don't cut in front of him, or he'll cut the front of you! Also, I'd buy him some popcorn just to be on the safe side. And you can mark what days you decide for your eventuial second movie date down on this handy 2011 Marvel Calendar which works perfectly well here in 2022!

The Marvel Calendar for 2011 2022: September Strike Soldier

...well, you come up with a synonym for "War Machine" that begins with all "S"s.

September is upon us, and it's now time to see all those who you missed all summer saying goodbye at the station for summer vacation took them away. As we noted last month, there's no more Marvel Age 1994 calendars (boo, hiss!) because the magazine got abruptly cancelled (even booier and hissier!). For a Calendar You Can Use in 2022™, we'll have to make do with some replacements. How about this handy September calendar from the never-aging world of the Simpsons?

from "The Prime of Miss Lisa Simpson" in Simpsons Comics #44 (Bongo, August 1999), script by Ian Boothby, pencils by James Lloyd, inks by Tim Bavington, colors by Nathan Kane, letters by Jeannine Crowell Black

Eh, that ain;'t gonna be much use, right? So let's try this handy calendar from the cover of a Batman and/or Superman comic book, which would be great to pin on your wall this month if only that dang Winged Rat and Big Blue weren't standing in front blocking most of it!

cover of Batman/Superman (2019 series) #22 (DC, November 2021), pencils by Ivan Reis, inks by Danny Miki, colors by Sabine Rich

But if you want a full, unobscured version of a September calendar for this month featuring Batman, you oughta flip through your back issue collection and clip out this panel from Batman #166 (formerly worth $400, now worthless because you clipped a panel out of it, so don't do that).

from "Two-Way Deathtrap!" in Batman (1940 series) #166 (DC, September 1964), script by Ed Herron, pencils by Sheldon Moldoff, inks by Joe Giella, letters by birthday boy Gaspar Saladino

Eh, still not quite what we wanted. So we'll make do with this month's entry from 2011: The Marvel 2011 Calendar to be precise, featuring the pleasant and not-at-all-threatening countenance of all-armored-up James Rhodes! Ain't he shiny?

More calendars to come? Why, yes, sointainly!

The Marvel Calendar for 2011 2022: August Alternative Avengers

Hey, remember this line-up? My best hero pal Ben Grimm on the Avengers? For about ten minutes? Yeah, that wuz a disappointment.

Ben Grimm in every magazine in 2023, sez I! But until that, you can hang this 2011 calendar on your wall because it works for 2022. (I even updated the dates of FanExpo Boston!)

The Marvel Calendar for 2011 2022: Jacked July Janissary

Now here's a hero who likes to hang out in July! It's not only his birthday month (July 4) but also the birth month of his namesake (also July 4). For the rest of the month Captain America can kidna coast, but you don't have to when you hang this cool craft calendar up for your perusal and edification!

Please note I've updated it slightly to add a 2022 event, and I think you'll notice where I did it! (See you at the movies, fellow Asgardians!)

The Marvel Calendar for 2011 2022: Jaw-dropping Jean in June

Not much to say about this one, folks: it's the X-Men vs. the X-Men (hey, where's Hank?) across the years. And look, I know Jean was dead at the time, but modern-day Emma Frost is no replacement for our favorite redhead. Phoenix that shizzle up, Ms. Grey!

Enjoy it all month long, or until you don't!

The Marvel Calendar for 2011 2022: May MCU Multiverse Matinee Magic

Hey look! Thor is using his ancient Uru hammer Mjolnir to light the way to your seat at your local cinema to see an exciting Marvel film this coming weekend! But remember to mask up and be safe if you go out! Thanks, Thor!

When this calendar was first publisher in 2011, the new film to see on May 6 was the first Thor movie, which makes this month very appropriate. You'll notice I have mildly updated the calendar to make it even more applicable to 2022.

The Marvel Calendar for 2011 2022: March Marvels Mug for the Camera

Spider-Woman's got the right idea (even tho' fabric don't work like that): put your best face forward and smile, smile, smile! Red Hulk agrees! Thor and Iron Man, who do not have good dental plans, do not. But they still don't mind if you hang this odd group shot calendar up for March 2022, because it still works, even if Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo doesn't take place until August this year. Get your white-out and you can fix that. Come to think of it, I coulda fixed it in Photoshop. But, whaddaya gonna do?, he said, rhetorically.

But look out! Somebody shot a hole through Red Hulk's skull, and I bet he ain't happy about it.

The Marvel Calendar for 2011 2022: Face Front, Fearless Forces of...uh...February.

I'm not really sure who this group is s'posed to be (The Secret Avengers? The Dependable Defenders? Hawkeye's bowling buddies?) but now you can enjoy them all month long by cutting out this calendar (caution: unplug computer before using scissors on it) and pasting it up on your wall! Right over that ugly crack in the plaster. There ya go! You've got yourself a load-bearing calendar now!
