They couldn’t even spell “baruch” right?!?
i didn't know that! I have corrected it Photoshoppically to avoid embarrassing Kitty.
Did they also cut short the blessing? Online, I see it's "Baruch atah Adonai, Eloheinu melech ha-olam, borei p'ri hagafen."
Given that it’s translated per that asterisked editorial note, I guess they technically repeated the opening (Hebrew, then English) rather than cut it short. What you quote is the blessing for wine, not lighting the candles as in the panel, which is “Baruch atah Adonai, Eloheinu melech ha-olam, asher kidishanu b’mitzvotav, v’tzivanu l’chadlik ner shel Chanukah.”
