Today in Comics History, June 24: Happy birthday, Mike Wieringo!

Born today in 1963: much-loved late comics artist Mike Wieringo: artist on Adventures of Superman, The Flash, Fantastic Four, Sensational Spider-Man, Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four, Spider-Boy, Tellos, (his own co-cretion with Todd Dezago), and more. Ringo passed away in 2007. The comics industry and fandom mourned his death, with much homage of and salute to this beloved creator.

Here's one page of a much longer interview with Wieringo from the pages of Elephantmen. It's excerpted from the incredible book Modern Masters: Mike Wieringo by Todd Dezago and Eric Nolen-Weathington. I highly recommend it!

Happy birthday, Ringo! We miss ya lots.
