Wait, you don't want to talk about the clown's death mask that Comic Book John Travolta is wearing?

I never made it through Xanadu. I tried several times with varying levels of drunkeness (from "not at all" to "very."

There seems to be some kind of creepy Rotoscoping-esque art going on there.

I actually recognized the hand of Messrs Netzer and Anderson. Never realized that Kuper ever did color for Marvel.

That's not Travolta, that is Michael Beck.

Xanadu is a guilty pleasure, without a doubt!

Had no clue there was a comic book version!

Anybody else remember when there was supposed to be a Silver Surfer live action movie and she was going to play Shalla Bal?

Sleestak said...

yeah. that's one of those things they do just to get a studio to listen. Lief Garrett was supposed to play the Surfer.

Terrible film, great soundtrack.

Before I reached that lengthy list of creators, I thought that this artwork was a skeleton from David Lloyd's closet!

Now, a crossover between V and Comic-Book Olivia Newton-John...that would be a sight to behold! "X for Xanadu"...

I was too young to follow it, but the effects were neat to an 80's kid. The Nostalga Chick actually reviewed this movie. It doesn't look like I missed out on anything.

I am forever conflating Two of a Kind (which DOES star Travolta and Comic Book Olivia Newton-John) and Xanadu in my mind. It's really not right. I'm sorry.

Has no-one noticed *The Hands* in the third panel???

And on an unrelated note am I the only one who thinks this song should have been reworked for Babylon 5?

A place where nobody dared to go,
The chaos we came to know,

They call it Z'ha'dum.

And now, widen your eyes and fear.
The Shadows are really here.

They've come from Z'ha'dum.

Z'ha'dum,
Z'ha'duuuum,
Now they are here
From Z'ha'dum.
Shadows hang on you just like a tomb
On you Z'ha'duuuuum.

Anybody?

...I'll get my coat.
