Today in Comics History, October 8: Happy birthday, Kirk Alyn!

Born on this day in 1910: Kirk Alyn, the first actor to portray Superman in live action in two serials! He was Blackhawk in another movie serial!

He also played child Lois Lane's dad alongwise Noel Neill as her mom, in a now-restored scene from the 1978 Superman movie!

Kirk Alyn the legend; Kirk Alyn the man:

from (top) Amazing World of Superman (DC, 1973);
(bottom) Alter Ego #143 (TwoMorrows, November 2016)

He was also another one of the fabulous celebrities at the Superman/Muhammad Ali boxing match! Can ya find him?
Wait...how can he be there and Superman...over here?

Well, I don’t know about that last part, given that he turned into a cartoon for the flight sequences...
