Today in Comics History, September 18: Happy birthday, Ami Onuki!

Born on this day: singer/musician Ami Onuki, one-half of the band Puffy [AmiYumi]. She and partner Yumi Yoshimura had their own (heavily fictionalized and exaggerated) American cartoon and yes, comic book! (She's the one with pink hair here!)

I wouldn’t be happy buried up to my neck in tons of grape cottage cheese, either, Puffy concert or no.
