Today in Comics History, March 14, 1984: I still happen to have Marshall McLuhan right here

On February 12, you saw Rick Veitch pull Marshall McLuhan from behind a movie theater standee to declare "Everything you know is wrong!" in the original 1985 publication of The One #1 (as opposed to the publication of The Two #2).

But, my point...and I do have one...is that when The One was reprinted by IDW in 2018, it served up a more-or-less-completely re-written version of the original text piece, and for some reason, changes the date on which the piece it was (in-universe) published!

from The One #1 (IDW reprint, February 2018), script by Rick Veitch

Why was it re-written and re-dated? EWell, here's the stone cold atomic truth for you: I don't know! Rick Veitch, if you're out there, let us know!
