Today in Comics History, July 6: Happy birthday, Burt Ward!

Holy birthday candles! Born on this day: actor, writer, and activist for animal causes Burt Ward!

from Fifty Who Made DC Great one-shot (DC, 1985)

You may remember Burt in his greatest role: as Dick Grayson, burt ward of Bruce Wayne, aka Robin, in smash hit of TV and movies: Batman '66!

Burt Ward was supposed to get his own humor/adventure comic book from Bluewater, but after a Free Comic book Day story, the series never appeared. Darn!
