Los 4 Fantásticos Friday
Whoa, it's been a busy, busy week, so excuse the image-heavy content. But what better excuse than to wrap up the working week with a visit from those most amazing superheroes of Spain: Los 4 Fantásticos! ¡Ay, caramba!

YIKES. These were official licensed translations, right?
Because the covers almost look like they were afraid of being sued in case anyone looked on model. And Impy looks like that head that appeared at the end of the Star Trek closing credits.
Shouldn't Doctor Doom be masquerading as El Hombre de Hierro?
Geez, Bully, I'm sitting here laughing my butt off and my girlfriend probably thinks I'm crazy now and is going to leave me. THANKS A LOT YOU LITTLE STUFFED BULL.
I'm pretty sure that second-to-last one was the inspiration for the Meet the Beatles cover.
I think these are great. Sure, the Impossible Man looks a bit strange, but otherwise the covers provoke a feeling of mystery and threat. They also beat up the main characters into something larger than life, and do it with a subtler way than Stan Lee's use of exclamations all the time.
I really don't understand joecab's remark - the artist who did these was clearly a master of his craft.
So beautiful, I almost cried.
Some of these remind me of 70s Doc Savage covers. Fun stuff!
Salo: Oh sure this is a great artist and an interesting take, but they don't all work for the FF for me.
The artist is López Espí, and he's still alive and kicking:

Man, The Impossible Man was really never the same after that stroke. Sad, really.
