Comics at Housing Works: She gave your very first kiss to you / That was Laura but she's only a dream

Well hello there, unbagged expensive comic book!

Here's some more neat stuff we received as donations over the weekend at Housing Works Bookstore and Café, where I volunteer to run the comic book department! (This won't be going out onto the floor immediately, but I hope to have it processed and priced maybe this week).

Looks like somebody's been through a Weird War:

It's the last Richie Rich comic from Harvey! How will we ever get along without him!

Despite my jokes, this issue
A) actually has a kinda sweet gag on the cover for once, and
2) goes for a lot more on the collectors' market than the $1 I was originally going to price it at.

I was disappointed this was an activity guide rather than a comic. "Hey there, Boo Boo! Let's go rustle ourselves up a pic-a-nic basket!" "Yogi, gosh! The tree and shaking and the earth is rumbling! What's going on?" "I knew the Ranger couldn't stay on his diet!"

OH BOY WE'RE GONNA BE RICH

You don't tug on Superman's cape
You don't spit into the wind
You don't pull the mask off the old Lone Ranger
And you don't mess around with Jim
Jim Olsen, that is

I've never seen this before! It's a sealed poly bag of the Batman Forever comic plus a CD of the U2 song.

Man, U2, you are intent on giving us your music by hook or by crook.

Full size Jack Chick comics! In fact, larger than that — I can't fit these in even a silver age bag. CURSE YOU TO HECK, JACK T. CHICK

Im actually really happy and grateful this donation included a lot of Archie and Sabrina comics: we always need more all-ages comics!

Somebody really read this issue of Hawkeye. I mean, it is READ..

(Seriously, we're happy to take these comics: I bundle them together into sets of 10 or so damaged comics and sell them in a discount pack. They make great reading even tho' they're not in collectible shape!)

I never knew they made a (promo) comic book out of this movie! Why isn't it still being published and on issue #150 by now?

Always happy to see Mickey Moran deliver a baby! I have to find the other set we have of these and see if they complete each other by shouting KIMOTA!

I thought those were feral hogs at first.

Wanna see somethin' sad?

Finally, I can...

All these comics are now on sale (or will be) in the Comic Department at Housing Works Bookstore and Café, 126 Crosby St., New York City. (Subway directions: Take the B, D, F or M train to Broadway/Lafayette, or the 6 train to Bleecker Street). Availablity of these issues not guaranteed, because sometimes they sell fast! But there's always plenty of other comics (and books, CDs, DVDs, and records to peruse)! Ask for Bully, the Little Stuffed Bull Who Runs the Comic Book Section!

Update as of 9/21/2021: The comics department at Housing Works has closed and the stock has been sold off. I no longer volunteer there. There is still a very small section of comics available for sale, but without the previous range and variety. Please be nice to the clerks and staff when you visit; this was not their decision.
