I thought Starro could travel through space. How's an air conditioner going to affect him?
It's not affecting HIM. It's affecting WALLY.
And, wow. Almost every issue of Wally's run opened with him narrating those words: "My name is Wally West. I'm The Flash. The Fastest Man Alive."
When Morrison turned that from mere exposition into a mantra, I realized that this was perfectly in character for Wally: early on, he had to constantly remind himself and convince himself that he was now running in Barry's boots; later on, it was an affirmation.
I'd never quite thought of it that way, YOS, and I actually love that interpretation of it!
