Contest ad from Marvel Mystery Comics #27 (January 1942)
*The phrase "by popular demand" is used here in the same way that Walt Disney's Comics and Stories used to use it, meaning "hey, look at this old piece we had lying around in inventory!"
Billy, the Golden Age Ka-Zar stories aren't bad...they're just rather unremarkable. The character (Ka-Zar, David Rand, very similar to Tarzan) originated in a pulp magazine published by Martin Goodman (who also owned Timely Comics) so the character was adapted for the comics. I don't think they've ever made any attempt to try to bring the Timely character into any sort of continuity with Marvel Earth-616, but I'm not as up on my Ka-Zar (Kevin Plunder) stories as I should be, so I'm not certain.

I never realized Ka-Zar was from the Golden Age! I've never seen any of his oldies reprinted. Are they really horrible or something?
