Theatre lobby card for the Fleischer and Famous Superman cartoon series (1941-1943)
Here's some of the title cards for the Fleischer/Famous Superman cartoons. To amuse you and to eat up my bandwidth, I've turned some of them into animated gifs!
Hey, did you notice the "Superman" logo on the title card?
It's similar to, but at the same time dramatically different than, the logo used on the comic books of that period:
It's from a different angle, and note the rounded corners of some of the letters. In fact, the Superman comic book would not introduce a rounded letter "U" until Superman #386...in 1983!
So, what are you waiting for? Go watch a Fleischer Brothers or Famous Studios Superman cartoon right now! And sing along with me to the words of the Superman Theme Song!:
Superman, Superman
Superman, Superman, Superman!
Superman, Superman
Superman, Superman, Superman!
Da da da da da da
Dahhhhhhhhh
Da da da da da da
Da da da da da
Da da da da da
Da da da da da
Da da da da da da!
Superman, Superman
Superman, Superman, Superman
Superman, Superman, Superman!
Oh, the heck with it...why not watch all of them?

What's your estimate for the number of times the ball has been symbolically/dramatically ripped off the Daily Planet building, in all media formats?
Great stuff, Bully — your post and of course the cartoons themselves!
I KNEW I was right about those lyrics!
