BURT!
Not every sound effect in mid-seventies FFs was "FOOM!", however. Here's one of the other...more unusual...sound effects in Fantastic Four #137:

Only a few months before this issue, actor, tough guy, and shag rug Burt Reynolds appeared nude in Cosmopolitan magazine. So let's put that Artie Simek-designed sound effect to good use, shall we?:

"BURT" is a sound my five-month-old daughter makes. A lot. "SPLAK" not so much.
I wonder if Thomas & Conway got Simek on a conference call to work out the sound effects, or if they gave him free rein. Or maybe I just like the idea of a bunch of grown men on a conference call, making nonsensical sounds at each other.
If FOOM is Friends of Ol' Marvel, then BURT is?
