Wait, Galactus fought Dazzler? What?
(That Excalibur cover with Galactus on steroids is pretty hilarious too.)
Dazzler was one f those experiments by Marvel to make the fans accept her, no matter what. She beat the tar out of Terrax, Dr Doom, etc and interacted with all the Marvel biggies. It wasn't until she showed up in X-Men seducing Longshot until she got interesting.
A parallel can be seen in how Marvel pushes Arana, Girl-Scorpion and X-23 today.
Didn't Aunt May defeat Galactus with Twinkies or something? It HAS been a while, although I blush to admit that I do actually own this. AND the Thor one.
But really, Dazzler? That's just absurd.
Oh, it gets much better: a follow-up What If?...Dazzler had become Galactus' herald. From what I hear, it's actually reallyreally cute, in an Archie-Meets-the-Punisher sort of way.
Also, the image of Bart as the Surfer? Complete with little silvery underpants? Priceless.
I nearly bought the Dazzler story when I saw it in a bargain bin recently, except I would have had to, y'know, pay actual money for it.
Was The Last Galactus Story ever finished? I have a vague idea of them canceling Epic in an effort to combat the sheer dullness, but I have no idea if it worked.
I heard there were 12 parts to the Last GALACTUS Story in Epic, and I've heard a rumor there was an actual finished version out there. Solid post, Bully! You knew I would dig this one.

Okay, NOW I know why I kept having nightmares of large purple gloves reaching out towards me in a choking manner.
I heard there were 12 parts to the Last GALACTUS Story in Epic, and I've heard a rumor there was an actual finished version out there.
I actually bought all the following issues of Epic Illustrated (foolish, foolish, me) and the LGS was unfinished when it was cancelled with issue #34. I'm pretty sure there was an installment in each issue )I've got them all somewhere in storage). That would mean there were 9 chapters published. There was a rumored special that would have finished the series but it was never published.
However, here's how John Byrne says he would have ended it. (Warning: this is posted on Byrne Robotics, so stay to the path and don't stray off! Here there be monsters!)
