Page from Batman: The Cult #4 (November 1988), script by Jim Starlin, pencils and inks by Berni Wrightson, colors by Bill Wray, letters by John Costanza
Man, Wrightson wanted to do The Dark Knight so very bad, didn't he?
I wouldn't know. The cover and pedigree of Batman: The Cult dragged me in, but I didn't make it any further than #1 thanks to a story that failed to hook me and... How can I describe my incredulous reaction to the art? I think that I actually stuffed a copy of #1 between some pages of Wrightson's Frankenstein to embarrass it.

PS: No offense to Bill Wray's colors.
