I love this piece, which was originally for a line of Marvel Slurpee Cups in the 1970s. I scanned and printed out a high-res b/w version from one of the TwoMorrows mags for my bulletin board and bought a Toon Tumbler pint glass with this image (slightly altered to include a Cockrum-drawn Nightcrawler) to drink my beer from. Awesome.
I like how the two Cyclops are staring at each other with hatred in their eyes. Wolverine lounging on Thunderbird's tombstone seems a bit callous, though. Why even put that tombstone there? The whole thing just seems like a jerk move.
I dunno--I think Wolverine is about to pour one out for his homie, so it is all good.
