What about the Byrne issue where the cab Ben is in is torn in half by Terrax? About #259 off the top of my head.

I think my favorite "jaded Marvel New Yorker" bit is the cabbie with:
"Y'ask me, it's all a publicity stunt!"
I swear, some variation of this one must have appeared in every other Marvel comic for years! And to this day, Stan makes frequent use of it in the Spider-Man comic strip and his various special comic projects.
And I love it! Even better is the typical refrain of the cabbie who actually *does* see, oh, a battle between the FF and the Red Ghost's Super-Apes first-hand: "Ah, they're just on location filming some nutty new sci-fi picture!"
Actually my favorite part of the Thor scan, is that Thor wanders off and forgets to pay him!

But for an ethnic Cab driver, I'm afraid you'll have to go and read last month's Birds of Prey, wherein Lady Blackhawk basically kidnaps a nice cabbie and has him drive her from Metropolis to California, and they end up hijacking the Amish.
I don't have it to hand to check right now, but didn't Busiek & Ross' Marvels feature a NY cabbie who was actually Stan Lee or Jack Kirby or someone like that? I can't quite seem to recall off of the top of my head.

Doesn't Ben Grimm weigh like 1500 pounds? I think cabs are within their rights not to pick him up, since he'd be bad for the suspension.
Actually, Monty, Byrne had a cute picture in an issue of FF (I want to say #259; should be the issue after the "All Dr. Doom" issue) which shows the Thing sprawled out in the back of a cab and he's definitely demolished it just by getting it.
Hell with Ben's weight: how the heck can he FIT into a cab, much less not hitting its ceiling, much much less with plenty of room for other people?
