Swinging on a Star

Would you like to swing on a star

Carry moonbeams home in a jar

And be better off than you are

Or would you rather be a mule?

A mule is an animal with long funny ears

He kicks up at anything he hears

His back is brawny and his brain is weak

He's just plain stupid with a stubborn streak

And by the way if you hate to go to school

You may grow up to be a mule

Oh, would you like to swing on a star

Carry moonbeams home in a jar

And be better off than you are

Or would you rather be a pig?

A pig is an animal with dirt on his face

His shoes are a terrible disgrace

He has no manners when he eats his food

He's fat and lazy and extremely rude

But if you don't care a feather or a fig

You may grow up to be a pig

Oh, would you like to swing on a star

Carry moonbeams home in a jar

And be better off than you are

Or would you rather be a fish?

A fish won't do anything but swim in a brook

He can't write his name or read a book

To fool the people is his only thought

And though he's slippery he still gets caught

But if then that sort of life is what you wish

You may grow up to be a fish

And all the monkeys aren't in the zoo, everyday you meet quite a few

So you see it's all up to you

You can be better than you are

You could be swinging on a star!

Now, fire this up and sing along:

I've always loved that tune. I have a greater appreciation for it now. (But that kid with eyebrows creeps me out. I hope William Frawley shaves them off.)

That gave me a helluva chuckle. Thank you.

Beautiful, Bully, simply beautiful.

I'm gonna be feeling warm and fuzzy all day. I grew up listening to Burl Ives sing that song. Thanks.

Wow, very well put together.

Heh heh. Oh if only Hawkeye could throw some acid at Iron Man again!

But that was quite lovely.

That was awesome. Genius.

I can no longer hear (or read the lyrics to, apparently) that song without thinking of Bruce Willis singing it for timing purposes during a jewel heist in Hudson Hawk. Which is a movie that would have been much better had it featured Captain America.

One of my favorite kid-songs. I used to have an LP full of them, and I think my brothers and I would sing them over and over. Great work on this, Bully.

Genius. You're awesome, Bully.

That was great.

Glad I've forgotten about "Hudson Hawk."

Ohhh, now I can't stop re-running a warbling Danny Aillo in my head.

I can't even try to comprehend the time and effort spent on this post -- 'preciate it though!!!

Nice work, Bully. And I'm glad to know I wasn't the only person thinking of Hudson Hawk during that montage. But I was the only person to enjoy it, apparently.

Another home run, little stuffed bull. :)

That was tremendous. I am happy.

All the kids in that video are probably dead now. I am sad.

Hawkeye is not a pig. He worships the ladies. And they worship him. Because chicks dig confidence, right babe?

I kept stmbling over the "moonbeams in a jar", and then it hit me: this song is really about the Defenders.

Dr. Strange makes a better pig anyway.

Thank you.
