Beginning a new 'ccasional feature here at Comics Oughta Be Fun: first in a series of comic book covers so wacky, so insane, so far out, that they're seemingly inspired by my Grampy Bull's fav'rite saying: "What the Sam Scratch is goin' on here?!?"
Love the Gold Key Trek, even though it varies between fairly standard, and completely insane. And I've read this one, and I think Scotty was the redshirt in question on the cover, no likeness to James Doohan withstanding. His accent in the comics makes Chris Claremont's Rouge dialog sound like the BBC.

Looks like them Duke boys are in fer a spot of trouble!
Too bad those Whitman/Gold Key Trek books never, ever lived up to the PURE AWESOME on the covers.
Oh yes. I could build this entire series around Gold key Star Trek covers.
I just like that fact that for once a red-shirt is kickin' butt and takin' names, instead of getting knocked off.
Romans and sports cars? Was this from the episode 'Bread and Camaros'?
Surely, only a cover this awesome could justify its presence on a "DYNABRITE" comic!

If the brutha in the red shirt isn't Scotty, he's a dead man.
