from The All-New Batman: The Brave and the Bold #14 (DC, February 2012), script by Sholly Fisch, pencils by Rick Burchett, inks by Dan Davis, colors by Guy Major, letters by Dezi Sienty
All-New Cold-TemperCHEER Batman takes some time out from slamming evil with his hammers (fists) of justice to listen to the religious self-doubts of special guest star Ragman, and to wonder at the chutzpah of an evil corporarton to name themselves what they did.
Special guest villain Detachable Chin is threatening this Jewish neighborhood. Will Batman and Ragman let this stand? They shall not.
Batman teaches Ragman the true meaning of Hanukkah: punching bad guys in the schnozz!
Oh wait, I guess this guy's gonna do it.
Like we saw in that Scooby-Doo comic, here it is: the relatively straight-forward story of Hanukkah. (You can tell it's historical because it's in sepiatone.)
During the lesson, Batman does the smart thing and keeps his mouth shut.A wise man does not speak before one who is greater than he in wisdom, and does not break into his fellow’s speech. — Pirkei Avot 5:7
"Why doesn't Batman use his money to better the community instead of just punching people?" My dear child, as the Five Books tell us, Batman does both.
Happy Hannukah from The Batman, and also Aquaman, who wishes you an outrageous holiday!
Anyone who is distressed together with the community will merit seeing the consolation of the community. — Taanit 11a:8
Just to be ecumenical, I brought my friend Kresh. (Holy Nativity!)
