Today in Comics History, October 3: Happy birthday, Chubby Checker!

Born on this day: Mrs. Checker's li'l baby boy Chubby Checker, who grew up to become the great rock singer and dancer we salute in this post!

Checker not only sang classic early rock hits but he popularized dances such as the Pony, The Fly, and — you mighta done it yourself sometime — The Twist!
