Today in Comics History: Happy birthday, Tove Jansson!

Born on this day in 1914: Finnish author and cartoonist Tove Jansson, creator of the Moomin novels and comic strips! One of my favorite authors since childhood, as the melancholy mood of the later Moomin books perfectly matched my childhood. (her adult books are great, too!)
