I'm so excited about 2011's
365 Days feature that I'm going to start it
a week early! So strap in, sit back, and enjoy the first of a year's worth of
365 Days with The Guy Freaking Out On the Cover of Action Comics #1!
Action Comics #1 (June 1938), art by Joe Shuster and Jack Adler
Whoo!
ReplyDeleteWell, it was HIS car you see, and he didn't have insurance...no wonder he was freakin' out!
ReplyDeleteAnd if you've got cut-rate insurance, you might wind up with a financial buzz cut. So get Allstate. You can save money and be better protected from Mayhem, like Superman.
ReplyDeleteLOL! I wonder if this means that for 2012 we're getting the Mole Man's underground creature from Fantastic Four #1?
ReplyDelete"Thats the last time I take my car to Kal-L Automotive!!!"
ReplyDeleteIn my mind, I'm going hear the Wilhelm scream for all 365 of these. This is going to be a great year.
ReplyDeleteIt is a little-known fact that, just as the many parallel Earths of the DC multiverse have alternate versions of Superman, Luthor etc., they also have alternate versions of Freaking-Out Guy. Someday his story will be told.
ReplyDeleteI'm mortified that you will be able to sustain this for a year and yet totally not surprised, either! It's a great idea.
ReplyDelete365??? OMG!
ReplyDeleteBully trumps Siskoid once again.
Ooh, don't forget about the cover of the originally solicited (and unpublished) version of Superman #676: http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=354592&GSub=32317
ReplyDeleteThe initial solicitation: "Superman embarks on a journey with a dying man who has been in the background of the Man Of Steel's life from the very beginning. As they search for answers to the strange riddle of the man's life, they also find themselves ambushed by...The Parasite!"
This.... this is fantastic.
