Have a lulu of a birthday...uh, Lulu!

On this date in 1948 in East Dunbartonshire, Scotland, Marie McDonald McLaughlin Lawrie was born. Dunno who that is? Nowadays she goes by the name Lulu Kennedy-Cairns, OBE. But you and me know her better as...Lulu!

Lulu's 1967 smash hit, "To Sir, with Love"

Her first hit, "Shout", recorded and performed at the age of 15! (1964)

Her (co-)winning performance in the 1964 Eurovision Song Contest: "Boom Bang-a-Bang," thus maintaining the tradition of exceptionally topical and vitally meaningful Eurovision song titles

Where most of us (yours little stuffed truly included) first heard Lulu: singing the title theme of the James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun (1974); title sequence by Maurice Binder.

Happy birthday, Lulu!
