I'm not familiar with either book so I'll have to check 'em out, especially Here's Luck (going straight on my Amazon.com wish list!) is it by Hugh Wiley? I want to write about a handful of Wodehouse-influenced books as I get further into the project (Wake Up, Sir by Jonathan Ames, An Evening of Long Goodbyes by Paul Murray) and this one sounds like a good addition. I'll won't be numbering them as part of the project, so every numbered entry will be a true Wodehouse book, but I want to fill it in with some other things as well. And I have a dandy treat planned for Halloween!Bullyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11708103213119467419noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16823651.post-86452874492383233732007-08-05T17:41:00.000-04:002007-08-05T17:41:00.000-04:00Your habit of purchasing Pigs Have Wings reminds m...Your habit of purchasing Pigs Have Wings reminds me of Mel Gibson's character in Conspiracy Theory, who was compelled to buy copies of Catcher in the Rye. Watch out, the Feds might be tracking you!

This was the first Blandings novel I ever read, and it's a pip, all right. I still have a couple unread Blandings to go. I should get on that.

Two of the books I mentioned on my Sidebar Update today reminded me of you and your project. The first, A Fate Worse Than Dragons, throws out a casual (but clearly intentional) reference to a Silver Cow Creamer. The second, Here's Luck, is one I think you would really enjoy -- it's like an Australian take on the typical Wodehouse novel. Check it out if you can.Tom the Doghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12784918700194480944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16823651.post-1014976010193281312007-08-04T12:00:00.000-04:002007-08-04T12:00:00.000-04:00I love Blandings, but only some kind of crazed, de...I love Blandings, but only some kind of crazed, demented stuffed bull would think the Elmsworth stories were a patch on Jeeves.Chancehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00226145896576592193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16823651.post-57329374937957022612007-08-03T18:02:00.000-04:002007-08-03T18:02:00.000-04:00How many of them are there?I know there's one outs...How many of them are there?

I know there's one outside Minneapolis as well...Bullyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11708103213119467419noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16823651.post-57841455469955747742007-08-03T15:06:00.000-04:002007-08-03T15:06:00.000-04:00Hey, we have a well-disguised Barnes-and-Noble boo...Hey, we have a well-disguised Barnes-and-Noble bookstore built out of an old movie theater here in Houston as well!
