Today in Comics History: That park you always saw advertised in comic books opened

Yep, it's the Palisades Amusement Park in beautiful New Jersey, only moments from Metropolis and Gotham City (if you're Superman). Here's the full ad (from Challengers of the Unknown #20, June 1961):

The Clyde Beatty and Cole Bros 3-Ring Circus! Remember, pound for pound, the only circus that gives you more orphaning action is this one:

Panel from Batman: Dark Victory #7 (August 2000), script by Jeph Loeb, pencils and inks by Tim Sale, colors by Gregory Wright, color separations by Heroic Age, letters by Richard Starkings

Bully, I have never purchased a comic that had a coupon from Palisades Park clipped out.

This is the first and only time I have ever seen Dick Grayson's parents played by Mr. Clean in a handlebar mustache and Melanie from last fall's season of The Voice.
