Credit where credit is due department

Folks, over the past couple days I've been examining connected time-travel stories in the Marvel Universe, with one more entry to come. As I was Googling around the internet today trying to find a couple more points on these stories to write about, I discovered to my surprise that totally excellent blogger Brian Hughes at Again With the Comics has covered the same three stories I'm talking about here, and he did it first, only a few months back. Yikes!

I wanted first of all to give kudos to Brian for his excellent taste in storylines, but also to let y'all know that no plagiarism or theft of ideas are intended. I honestly did not see Brian's blog entries on these stories (the first one of them is here) before, but he definitely beat me to the punch here. As I'm not done writing my third entry I've avoided reading his entries too closely—I don't want to subconsciously copy any of his analysis (I'll look at his posts more fully tomorrow night), but he appears to have taken a much fuller, more comprehensive, and definitely more reverent analysis than my jocular, sometimes MST3K-style pokin' fun at these stories.

I post this to give credit where credit is do, to apologize to Brian for what is an unintentional and unintended copying of an idea he had first (it does happen in the blogosphere), and to point you to what is his really dandy analysis of the stories. I have also emailed Brian directly to say the same. Brian, no theft or insult meant. Please, everybody check out his ultra-cool blog and his Time Trilogy posts. He got there first and deserves your attention.

Hey, no problem at all. No apology necessary, either! There’s no trace of my stuff in your stuff, and hey, it’s a great storyline! I was looking forward to seeing your take on it. Carry on, friend Bull, carry on!
